What is a dedicated (bare-metal) server?
A dedicated server is a physical machine in a data center allocated solely to you. Unlike a VPS, there is no virtualization layer: the processor, memory and disks are shared with no one. It offers the highest level of performance, isolation and customization.
How does it differ from a VPS, and when should you switch?
With a VPS you use a dedicated slice of a powerful physical server; with dedicated, the whole machine is yours. If your VPS resources regularly hit their limits, or you need consistent peak performance and full hardware control, it's time to switch.
Who manages the server?
Full administrator access is yours; you build the software stack as you wish. Hardware health, networking and physical security are our responsibility. You can also purchase management service from our team for setup, hardening and maintenance.
