When to use .net
Network and infrastructure services
Use .net for a website describing connectivity, hosting or technical support. The extension does not grant a licence to provide telecommunications services.
Software and developer tools

An alternative address for an existing brand
If the .com is taken, investigate the .net option. Separately check whether using it could cause confusion with another business using the same name.
