What is .online?

.online is a generic extension that directly describes being online. It can suit a learning platform, remote consultancy or digital community; it is not itself software or a hosting package. Use a .online registered at DomainQ for a service name that is independent of your current platform.

Diagram of the name, extension and DNS hierarchy in yourbrand.online
In yourbrand.online, yourbrand is your chosen name and .online is the top-level domain. DNS hierarchy proceeds from the root (.) to the extension and the name. This is an illustrative address, not an availability result.

.online registry and registration rules

Manage your .online order and account through DomainQ. Radix policies cover premium tiers, reserved names and abuse handling, and IANA identifies the current operator. Review your selected name’s conditions before registration.

Radix Technologies Inc. SEZC

This is the legal entity listed by IANA. Radix manages the extension’s registration policies and central registry.

When to use .online

Classes and learning

Collect live classes, recorded courses and student resources at one address. Choose a name that works for future sessions rather than including a particular course year.

Remote services and appointments

Explain the service clearly when offering consultations or appointments. .online does not automatically include booking or video meeting features.

Membership and communities

Use a branded address for events, member areas and resource archives. Keep login and payment pages consistent with your domain identity.

Matching a .online name to your service

Search your brand and short service names at DomainQ to find a .online address customers can spell even when they hear it over the phone.

Avoid repeated wording

If your brand already contains online, read the complete address aloud. Repeated wording and long service lists can make it harder to type.

Service name or brand?

A course topic can grow into a broader offer. A brand name may last longer than a narrow class title if you plan to add services.

.online, .site and .com

.online emphasises an online service; .site can suit a project website, while .com offers a broad brand address. Choose wording your audience understands.

Register and manage .online at DomainQ

Register your domain at DomainQ and manage its DNS connections in your panel. Choose the platform for courses, appointments or memberships separately, and budget for registration and renewals alongside those services.

Naming and transaction rules

Premium names
Name-specific price tier

Registration, transfer, restoration and renewal charges may vary by tier. The standard table is not a quote for a premium name.

Premium status can affect renewals

Do not assume the name will renew at a standard rate based on its initial registration price; read its specific conditions.

Reserved names
Some labels are unavailable

Registry and ICANN rules reserve certain names. The absence of a working website does not establish availability for new registration.

Abuse rules
Registry policies apply

Phishing, malware and other prohibited uses can affect registration or the operation of the domain.

Before registering at DomainQ

Registration and renewal costs

Compare a low introductory registration offer with the renewal fee. Do not budget for a premium .online using the standard tariff.

Platform domain support

Check whether your learning or booking software supports a custom domain and which plan is required. Its subscription may be billed separately.

Reliable account access

Keep membership email working and monitor renewal notices. Avoid leaving the project account dependent on one temporary team member.

Clear login and payment paths

State who provides the service, how to contact them and the applicable terms. HTTPS and payment infrastructure are configured separately from registration.

How to register a domain with DomainQ

From choosing your name to managing DNS, keep your domain in one customer panel.

  1. Search for your name at DomainQ

Check your address for availability and compare alternative extension prices. Searching alone does not reserve the name.

  2. Complete registration in our panel

Review your registrant details, registration term and total price in your DomainQ customer panel. Keep your contact details current for renewal notifications.

  3. Connect with your included DNS

Manage web and email records with our included Premium Anycast DNS. If you are still building your site, try SiteQ free for 15 days; our team can help with setup questions.

Technical terms and transaction details

Does premium pricing apply only in the first year?

Radix policy allows price tiers to apply to different transactions, including renewals. Check the later-term price for your exact name.

Does DNSSEC support automatically protect my domain?

No. Registry support must be paired with signing at your authoritative DNS service and correct DS data at registration level. Ask the DomainQ team about domain-side steps to ensure compatibility with your DNS service. HTTPS setup remains a separate task.

Questions about .online at DomainQ

From choosing .online to registration and renewal: answers about your DomainQ service and the extension’s requirements.

How much does a .online domain cost?

The pricing section shows DomainQ’s standard .online registration, renewal and transfer fees separately. Check the selected term, taxes and the name’s pricing category in the order summary.

Can a cheap .online cost more after the first year?

Yes, initial and renewal rates can differ. Check the exact name’s premium status, promotion period and renewal charge together.

Must I run an online shop to use .online?

The extension is not limited to shops. It can also serve classes, consultancy, publishing or communities, subject to registration and use policies.

Does a .online domain include a booking system?

No. Choose booking software separately; if it supports custom domains, connect your address using its DNS instructions.

Can I use .online for business email?

Yes. Your .online registration at DomainQ includes free Premium Anycast DNS. Add your email service’s MX and verification records in your panel, and create the mailbox separately with that email service.

Should I move my existing website to .online?

Assess the new address’s communication value, redirects and existing links together. Changing the extension alone is not a reason to move an established site.

Does .online include the same brand’s .com?

No. Each address is registered separately. If you use both, choose the main site and configure the other address accordingly.

Why is a premium .online priced differently?

Radix assigns certain names to separate price tiers. Those tiers can also affect renewals; check name-specific registration and renewal charges at checkout.

Can I use .online with different hosting?

Yes. Connect a .online registered at DomainQ to another host or platform that supports custom domains. Manage the destination’s required records through free Premium Anycast DNS. Moving files and data to the new service is a separate task. Plan website and email records together before changing DNS.

Does .online improve SEO?

The word online does not automatically give priority in search. Your learning or service pages must answer user questions and remain technically accessible.
