It identifies the registrar managing the domain in Nominet’s system. Current registrar changes require the correct destination tag; it does not determine where website files are stored.
Is the 2027 transfer change already in effect?
Nominet announced standardisation for 9 February 2027. Do not treat the future TAC workflow as a replacement for today’s IPS TAG process; check the announcement when transferring.
